Wonderful writing. I once read the story of a Finnish couple who claimed that their secret to a happy relationship was abstinence from TV and mobile. They said the media create false expectations in us from other human beings. If you watch a lot of TV, your standard definition of beauty is likely to change in your subconscious mind. Hence I do believe we could engineer the human mind (en masse) to accept a new reality.

I do think our society has been trained by mobile and social media to accept virtual reality already to a great extent. A comment on social media if engineered well could cause hurt or even joy to a real person. Usually its a human who writes the comment but it could very well be a bot.

Sit on the tube and most people are not looking around trying to have a conversation with the stranger next to them but glued to their cell phones having a virtual interaction.

In short I believe humans could be trained to accept the AI generated version of reality, perhaps they are not ready for it now but I'm sure the mega corporations will invest to get us there.

I so appreciate this newsletter this week. There is more than one example of why humanity will pushback and how they will do it. We are living through a time where those who might not speak up need to speak up. We are living through a time where those who might typically not take action need to take a little bit of action to clarify what’s OK and what’s not OK with them. I want to believe that the instinct champion authenticity will kick back in with people of every age. I have worked with interns for work and teenagers for homework support—who don’t want to use AI for everything. I am reminded there is something special about being human and self expressing. AI can’t do you. Just can’t.

Thank you for a wonderful newsletter again.
